Researchers in computer science at Ker-Lann belong to the IRISA laboratory. ENS Cachan is one partner of this lab (among the University of Rennes 1, the CNRS and the INSA of Rennes) in association with the INRIA Bretagne Atlantique research center.

This group works in three project-teams of the INRIA - Rennes Bretagne Atlantique reearch center: the BUNRAKU team (Perception decision and action of real and virtual humans in virtual environments and impact on real environments), the DISTRIBCOM team (Distributed models and algorithms for the management of telecommunication networks), and the KERDATA team (Programming parallel and distributed systems for large scale numerical simulation applications). Two other project-teams are being associated: the CAIRN team (Computing ArchItectures with embedded Reconfigurable resources: towards energy-efficient system-on-chip) and the CELTIQUE team (Semantic Analysis for Software Certification).
