Student Associations

On-campus student associations are very dynamic and offer a wide array of activities for the entire student body.
  • The BDE (Student Affairs Association) coordinates the projects undertaken by on-campus student associations.
  • The BDS (Sports Association) proposes a broad range of both indoor and outdoor athletic activities.
  • On-campus associations are heavily involved in the life of the student body in terms of social contact as well as cultural outlets.

Linguistic competence

Adequate knowledge of the French language is generally required for all foreign student applicants that wish to enroll for courses. Your language skills must enable you to understand course content to the same extent as native French students.
  1. For Erasmus Mundus Monabiphot program see specific admission conditions.
  2. For research training in sciences and engineering, linguistic competence in English may be sufficient.
The ENS Cachan Language Department organizes French language classes for foreign students and staff throughout the academic year.

Moreover, intensive French summer school courses are offered by a partner institution. Students enrolled at the ENS Cachan may participate in such courses at a special rate. The International Affairs Office will make contact with this language course organizational team on your behalf. Be sure to indicate your intention to sign up for French language instruction at the time of submitting your application.
