Joint PhDs

The procedure of joint thesis allows a French or foreign PhD student to obtain simultaneously the diploma of French doctor and the foreign equivalent diploma after an unique defence.

Conditions


Student should :
  • Prepare his(her) thesis in two higher education institutions: the one in France, the second abroad,
  • Have two supervisors (a supervisor in each of both countries),
  • Spend alternative periods in both institutions during the thesis period.
This procedure could be applied from the first year of thesis and is legalized by an agreement.
